US Kids Golf History
U.S. Kids Golf, LLC began in 1996 as a solution to the problem its founder, Dan Van Horn, experienced when trying to get his children, ages 5 and 8, into golf. “They were enthusiastic at first, but their interest quickly dropped. They weren’t having fun,” Van Horn recalls. At the time, I didn’t realize that cutoffs and junior clubs were so heavy; they were not only hurting my kids’ swings but also their desire to play.”
That’s when the former golf professional and engineer began developing Ultralight kids clubs, which were designed to be 25% lighter than adult and most junior clubs, and he formed the company, U.S. Kids Golf. Since then, parents and pros around the world have seen the incredible difference that lightweight and correctly fit clubs have made in their young player’s swing and enthusiasm for the game. Today, the company is the world’s leading provider of equipment.
Equipment and Products
U.S. Kids Golf offers nine sizes and three models of clubs, and players are fit by height instead of age. Hats, shirts, gloves, balls, and other golf-related accessories are also designed specifically for young players.
Yard Club
Learning a proper grip is key to a natural swing, and Yard Club makes it simple. With a molded grip for hand placement, an oversized lightweight head with pitching wedge loft, and a flexible shaft, it helps kids get the ball airborne and develop correct technique. Perfect for practice at home, in the yard, or on the range, Yard Club makes learning golf easier, more fun, and lasting.
Ultralight Clubs
Ultralight has been the standard for beginner youth golf equipment since 1997. Unlike others, U.S. Kids Golf offers nine sizes tailored to precise height ranges. Clubs are up to 30% lighter than adult versions, with flexes and grips designed for kids. This engineering helps young players swing better, have more fun, and build a lifelong love for golf.
Tour Series Clubs
Tour Series is built for young golfers ready to move beyond beginner clubs. Since 2007, it’s been the top choice at the U.S. Kids Golf World Championship for players under 12. With heavier heads, stiffer shafts, and adult‑level quality, each club is precisely customized for fit and performance. That’s why the best young players choose Tour Series.
